Get Your Money’s Worth With PPC

So, after our last update on online marketing acronyms, I want to look more closely at pay per click advertising and how it works.

As you probably know, advertisers pay the site owner whenever their ad gets clicked. On search engines, this means advertisers have bid on keyword phrases that deal with their target market. You can expect to pay a fixed price per click on content sites, however, rather than bid on terms.

Doing it right is the hard part.

Your library of profitable keyword phrases needs to be extensive. Twenty or 30 will not cut it. You should have at least 1,000-2,000 minimum for small campaigns. You must use exact match phrase match and broad match correctly to improve positioning and bring your average cost-per-click down.

Use the Google Adwords Key tool and estimated traffic tool to check click probability for your keywords.

It takes some experimentation to get the right campaign. Set a conservative budget, and try your campaign. Try different versions of the same ads. Which keywords work best? Use them! Google has great video resources you should definitely check out for best success, and you can find them with clear 4g internet.

Defining Online Marketing Acronyms

Good afternoon, Internet marketing enthusiasts. Obviously, it has been a while since I was last able to post on this site. I apologize profusely for my absence, and I promise to do better in the future.

So, back when the posts were more frequent, one piece of advice I received was that including a dictionary of important acronyms might be really useful. So, without further ado, here is a quick overview of some acronyms that you are sure to see in future posts.

SEO Search Engine Optimization. The content technique used to help a website rank more highly on a search engine’s results page.

PPC (CPC) Pay Per Click, or Cost Per Click, is a pretty simple technique to understand. Just as the name would suggest, you pay each time someone clicks on your advertisement.

CPI Cost Per Impression. Another easy one to understand, Cost Per Impression is where you pay every time an advertisement is placed on a website. It’s not about clicks or action; just whether the advertisement is on the site.

CPA Cost Per Action. Slightly different than the others, with CPA, you only pay each time a click results in some sort of action. For a transactional site, if someone makes a purchase, the advertiser will be charged a fee.

I will do my best to define future acronyms when they come up, as this is by no means an exhaustive list. Hopefully you will find it useful going forward though!
